[MAJOR UPDATE] v9.8 - PROGRESSION REWORK, SLIDE PHYSICS AND MORE
We'd be the cavalry...
Greetings all!
It's been just over a year since the last update and even longer since the latest build of Agility Control. Short of it is that I reached a lot of hurdles that I only just learned how to jump over but on the plus side that means exciting new things are in the works.
Without any delay let's get into it:
NEW LEVEL - MONTCALM
This is a big one.
Not even as in importance, this level is big.
It serves as a hub level of sorts where there are various static goals present, and will be the main way to access tIt serves as a huhe old levels going forward.
Currently it's quite a sparse blockout with 5 or so collection and exploration goals but I intend to add different types of goals in the future (time trials, get-there's, pseudo-races, etc.)
The Farm is the only level that remains as an extra unlock, although it will change to being accessed through the Junkyard (the brown mud bit) once implemented.
See if you can figure out how to unlock New Orleans and especially the Warehouse as it's currently a "secret" level.
PHYSICS - SLOPE SLIDING/SLOPE BOOSTING

Took me since the start of this project roughly 2 years ago to figure this one out, but now you get a speed boost if you slide down a slope that's steep enough! Montcalm has plenty of these so try it out for yourself!
UI/UX - SPRING CLEANING
HUD & Menus
Most menus have gotten an update (you can now save and delete your game manually from the pause menu!) Certain HUD elements have been resized and moved around to fit better and things are generally clearer. There will still be a major hud facelift but things are solid as they are now, and once animations are added things will get extra
SFX
All sound effects are now self made and are generally more consistent! In particular, the OOB sound effects have the most variation such as when falling into lava, water and just the generic OOB noise.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
I'm excited to be working on this project again after some time away as I've learnt a lot in the past year or so.
No promises but if I can keep up then I'm going to aim for a proper demo release late summer with another hub level and reworked versions of the older levels plus a few new ones potentially.
